At least Netgear had the intelligence to ask an audio company to design the speaker.
Also, at least the popcorn popper is coming out under the Cisco label instead of the Linksys label. Linksys quality went straight down the TP-Link Crapper immediately after Cisco bought them, and I'd be afraid to trust them with cooking.
The smart speaker part is an added "bonus". Probably a smart speaker won't sell by its own so they integrate it into networking stuff. I refuse to receive a "smart" speaker that can record everything from my house, paying any money for it is out of the question, lol.

If you had asked me 5 years ago what the most saturated ecosystem would be in 2018, I would have NEVER said "smart speakers"Netgear has no business making audio products. What the hell is going on. Cisco might as well turn out a popcorn popper.
