Memory prices have fallen once again this week with almost all of the modules we list falling a good bit. DDR SDRAM is making the biggest buzz in terms of pricing since Crucial has slashed its price to match the price of their PC133 CAS2 modules making the move to DDR more affordable. As you can see, 256MB of PC2100 memory has fallen $24 and the 128MB stick has taken a $17 drop. PC1600 has fallen in much the same manner bringing its price to levels near that of PC2100 memory. We've also added Corsair PC2400 memory, running at 150MHz, that vendors have recently begun to sell. It runs approximately 70% more expensive than PC2100/PC1600 DDR modules but will most likely fall in the coming months. RDRAM has also dropped in price; no surprise there.
PC133 and PC100 modules like their DDR cousins have also taken a hit in pricing with CAS2 and CAS3 modules dropping sharply in price. We said this last week and several months ago and we'll say it again. Prices are great right now and hopefully will last throughout the next few months of the summer so if you're debating whether or not to upgrade now may be the best time because as we've seen in the past memory prices can spontaneously take a price hike.
